Refreshes every 15 seconds while open. Counts only: no visits or players are recorded.

How to play

Arena standings

Every Saturday for two hours. Join and you're paired automatically, one classic game at a time, with players close to your score. A win is worth 2 points and a draw 1. Pause whenever you like: your points stay.

Leaderboard

Each set of rules has its own rating. A new season starts on the 1st of every month, and everyone starts again at 1200. Each online round moves your rating: beating a stronger player earns more. Games against the computer don't count.

Who runs this site

Pencil Tic-Tac-Toe is run by Dz Game, in France. For any question about your data, write to contact.pencilxo@gmail.com.

The site is hosted by Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. Your data is stored in its Paris region, in France, and our emails are sent from there too.

What we keep

Why

To run your account and the game (our agreement with you), and to keep the site secure and working (our legitimate interest). We don't sell your data, show ads or use trackers, and the site loads nothing from other companies.

Who can see it

Other players see your username, avatar, country, rating and results. Your name, email, date of birth and phone number are never shown to anyone. Our hosting provider stores the data, and our email provider sends the emails you ask for (confirmation, password reset).

Cookies and storage

One cookie keeps you logged in; the site can't work without it. Your browser also keeps your settings (language, sound, game mode) and, if you play as a guest, your games. Nothing is used to follow you around.

How long

As long as you have an account. When you delete it in your profile, your data is deleted at once; your online games stay in your opponents' histories as "Deleted player". Backups are kept for up to 14 days.

An account whose email address is never confirmed is deleted after 7 days, with everything in it.

Your rights

You can see and download your data (Profile, Download my data), correct it (Profile), delete it (Profile, Delete account) and object to how it's used. Write to contact.pencilxo@gmail.com for anything else. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Age

You must be at least 16 to create an account. Anyone can play as a guest.

Pencil Tic-Tac-Toe is free. We do our best to keep it running, but it comes as it is, without any guarantee.

Your account

You must be at least 16. Keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what's done with your account. One account per person.

Play fair and be kind

You can block players, and report the ones who break these rules.

If you break the rules

We may rename, suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules, and remove ratings won unfairly.

Responsibility

As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for lost games, ratings or data, or for the site being unavailable.
